We always enjoy working on student events with the University of Virginia, so we were excited to be tasked with designing a stage set for this year's Hoos Choice Awards! Combining different elements of decor and technology, we created a dynamic backdrop that provided visual impact on its own, but that also allowed the athletic department's stunning video content to be front and center.

We started with some custom stairs and LED tape to enhance the "awards show" feeling. In the background, we used a star drop, which is black drape with individual LED lights sewn in to resemble a starry night sky. We then arranged our LED panels into a unique configuration, creating larger LED walls for primary video content and smaller LED wall pieces for logos and ambient content. We surrounded the video walls with frosted acrylic panels, and topped off the set with a spandex "splatter" shape that we could project onto and that could display the event logo for the duration of the program.
